So, I had some exciting news this week. It wasn’t as exciting as it could have been, but that’s beside the point. The news is this:
I’m going to DC.
That’s right, I’m heading to Washington for two months at the start of 2010 to intern with a Congressman. It’s a remarkable opportunity, and one that I’m naturally thrilled to have been offered. And I’ll be working in the office of a Congressman whose interests are quite horticultural, which dovetails excpetionally well with my job.
I’m starting to compile my list of things to do and places to visit. It’s pretty exciting. I’m determined to meet at least one of my bloggers in the course of the two months I’m there. And buy new shoes. And see my favourite painting, which hangs in the National Gallery of Art. But that’s the list so far. Got any more suggestions?
DC’s a little short on hidden gems, but the obvious stuff like the Lincoln Memorial and the Air and Space museum is all pretty cool. And of course all the best bloggers live here.
